Connection Across Time

Suez Canal

The Suez Canal has been used for hundreds of years to save time and money when transporting goods. The current canal is 193 km long making it the longest canal with no locks. There are slim to no accidents in this canal compared to many others. This canal allows for ships to sail between the Mediterranean sea and the Indian Ocean in a lot shorter time. Today Egypt owns and regulates the Suez canal In 2007, 18,193 vessels passed through the canal
